Basically just testing myself to see whether or not I could still draw Lion King characters after a long break. I included both the sketch and the colored version because I think I actually like the sketch more. Apologies for the double sig, unfortunately some people just can't be trusted.
Edit: I just realized uploading this actually coincided with the movie's 15th anniversary. Now I really wish I'd have put more effort into this. >_< Happy anniversary, TLK.
I have to say, I think you'll always be the best at drawing Lion King fanart. (Only people better than you are probably the animators themselves. The colored pic looks almost like a screenshot!)
Good to see the trio. ^_^

I don't know if it's only me but I like more sketches than final works. It's because I can see everyone of the details the artist had to do in order to complete the general idea and they don't get hidden under the colors layers, it's like a art version of x-ray XD
Seems like you were succesful! They look right on model. I guess once you've learnt how to draw a character, it never leaves your head. It looks like a cel out of the movie.
Only one thing, Pumbaa seems a shade to bright compared to the other two. Otherwise excellent.

I'm half-German, actually, from my father's side. I'm afraid my German is pretty rusty these days though, I can read it but speaking it is a wholly different matter. XD
And yes, I do still have that Sprite picture saved, actually! I still remember when you drew it for me.
Thanks for the comments!

Yeah, I noticed that about Pumbaa too. I just pretty much gave up working on the colored version because I wasn't too happy with it. Maybe someday I can do better.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Just a LITTLE earlier today, I looked at the Timon section on Animated Lust (Life, now) and I asked my friend
I don't remember why I asked, but thing is that I thought about you...
I wonder if you still have that Spring Sprite picture I drew you years ago...
It wasn't as good as your art...
NICE picture, though! It's LOVELY!

Boy did I improve with my English, though!
Your art is always nice. Picking up a style after a long time is hard, but you did it well.
