In honor of Christmas approaching and the upcoming first live action adaptation of a Discworld novel, here's a scene from Terry Pratchett's "Hogfather".

Death has taken the place of Hogfather (the Discworld equivalent of Santa Claus), with the help of his loyal manservant Albert. Acting in Hogfather's place means taking on all his duties, so Death heads to "the Maul" to invite all the good boys and girls to share their Hogswatch wishes with him. And then he runs across Nobby.
Ah, Nobby Nobbs. How to describe him? Probably the easiest way is just to mention the fact that he always carries a piece of paper with him attesting that he is, in fact, a human being, because you wouldn't believe it to look at him.

"AND WHAT'S YOUR NAME, LITTLE.... [Death] hesitated, but rallied, and continued ...PERSON?
'Nobby Nobbs, Hogfather', said Nobby.
(...)
AND HAVE YOU BEEN A GOOD BO.... A GOOD DWA... A GOOD GNO... A GOOD INDIVIDUAL?"
